Privacy Policy
Content Nation (“we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. The app provides mood-based and AI-assisted recommendations for YouTube, Spotify, and TMDB content.
1. Who we are

2. Information we collect
- Account data: email address, password (stored by Firebase Authentication), optional display name, and Google account identifiers if you use Google Sign-In.
- Profile media: optional profile photo (camera or gallery), stored with Firebase Storage / your account profile.
- Usage data: favorites, viewing history, preferences, and similar in-app activity, synced via Firebase Firestore when you are signed in, and/or stored locally on device (e.g. Hive / SharedPreferences).
- Voice audio (optional): if you use voice mood detection, the microphone records short audio for emotion classification. Processing is designed to run on-device with TensorFlow Lite. We do not sell voice recordings and do not use them for advertising.
- Chat prompts: messages you send to the AI assistant may be transmitted to OpenAI (or similar AI providers) to generate recommendations. Do not include sensitive personal data in chat.
- Technical data: device/app identifiers as needed for authentication, security, and basic operation; crash or diagnostic data only if we enable such tools in a future update.

We do not show third-party ads in Content Nation (paid app). We do not sell your personal information.
4. Third-party services
We rely on processors and APIs such as:
- Google Firebase — Authentication, Firestore, Storage
- Google Sign-In — optional login
- OpenAI — AI chat / recommendation text
- YouTube Data API, Spotify Web API, TMDB API — search and metadata for recommendations (you open content on those platforms)
Those services have their own privacy policies. Links and playback on YouTube, Spotify, or other sites are governed by those platforms.
5. Permissions
- Internet — required for recommendations, auth, and sync
- Microphone — optional voice mood detection
- Camera / photos — optional profile picture
6. Health disclaimer
Mood detection is for entertainment and content personalization only. It is not a medical device and must not be used to diagnose or treat any condition.
7. Data retention
We retain account and synced data while your account is active. Local data remains on your device until you clear app data or uninstall. AI providers may process prompts according to their retention policies.
8. Your rights & account deletion
You may request access, correction, or deletion of your account data by emailing mehihamza1@gmail.com from the address associated with your account. Subject line: “Content Nation account deletion.”
We will delete or anonymize account data in Firebase (and related profile storage) within a reasonable period, typically within 30 days, except where we must retain information for legal or security reasons. Uninstalling the app removes local data but does not automatically delete your cloud account — please email us to complete deletion.
9. Children
Content Nation is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is intended for teens and adults (13+).
10. Security
We use industry-standard protections such as encrypted transit (HTTPS) and Firebase security controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
11. International users
Your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate (including the United States). By using the app you understand this transfer may occur.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
